You may have some photos on your iPhone and need to bring them into your PIM inspection but first, you need to get the photos on your iPad. 


Did you know you can use Apple's built-in Airdrop function to transfer photos between IOS devices including iPhone, iPad, iPod and Mac using Bluetooth?     


You don't even need a WIFI connection.


Step 1:  Make sure Bluetooth is on for both iPhone & iPad. 

On each device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure it is turned on.  


Step 2:  Turn on AirDrop on iPad.

You will need to turn on AirDrop on the iPad so it is able to receive photos from other devices nearby. 

Airdrop is located in the Control Centre of your device which can be accessed by swiping up from the bottom of the screen with one finger. 

Tap on the AirDrop icon. 

In the AirDrop box select tap Everyone.


Step 3:  Turn on AirDrop on iPhone.

You will also need to turn on AirDrop on the iPhone. 

Airdrop is located in the Control Centre of your device which can be accessed by swiping up from the bottom of the screen with one finger. 

Hold your finger on the connectivity folder to see the rest of the folder options including AirDrop

Tap the AirDrop icon.


In the AirDrop box select tap Everyone.


You are now ready to send photos between devices.



Step 4: Send Photos from iPhone

On the iPhone go to Photos select the images you wish to send then tap the action icon to display options.



Nearby devices available for AirDrop will appear below the photos.  (You may first need to tap an AirDrop icon to refresh the device list)

Tap on the iPad you wish the photos sent. 




Step 5: Accept Photos on iPad

An AirDrop message will appear on your iPad.  Tap Accept.  




The photos will now be saved into your iPad photo library located in the Photos app.
