Property Inspection Manager: How long have you been using PIM?

Neil Gibb: We're coming up to a year now since we started to explore using PIM for our inspections. It's coincided with a 12-month period of huge growth in demand from investors looking to achieve a higher yield and an increase in demand for flexible letting arrangements for single renters.

Property Inspection Manager: What impact has PIM made to your inspection process?

Neil Gibb: We were finding the inbuilt inspection tool in PropertyMe had great integration, but was lacking for our specific market which is managing houses with common areas, and rooms with different tenants. We needed an inspection app that could be set up to conduct entry, exit and periodic inspections - to our process standards, and with the flexibility to manage all aspects of the overall property and individual lettings. Embedding and improving our process has contributed to our ability to handle growth and the process is easy to pick up for new staff members. Our insurers are also impressed and this is helping us maintain and potentially reduce our insurance premiums.

Property Inspection Manager: What is/are the standout features of PIM from your perspective?

Neil Gibb: The ability to customise Settings in PIM and to develop Report Templates that accurately reflect our different inspection process is the major benefit of using PIM. The assistance we experienced from the PIM team was also a critical component of getting this right. There was an element of 'is this possible' and we managed to achieve a great result.
